The Journal of Materials and Products Testing adds that some lipstick products contain the yellow-orange pigment Agent S, which is suspected of causing allergic reactions such as asthma or neurodermatitis in previously exposed individuals.
Some products also contain tartrazine, which can cause skin irritation in sensitive people.
In addition, some lipstick products contain petroleum substances such as mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH), which are carcinogens.
